One man is dead and another was seriously wounded in a suspected mob hit at a Woodbridge cafe on Friday.

The identities of the two men were not released but police sources say investigators are trying to determine if the victims in the 6:40 p.m. shooting on Woodstream Blvd. — in the Hwy. 7-Martin Grove Rd. area — were associates of recently murdered mobster Carmine Verduci.

York Regional Police said the wounded man was rushed to hospital after being shot in the neck. His condition was not immediately available.

The force’s homicide unit is now in charge of the investigation.

Verduci, 56, was murdered April 24 in a planned hit police sources say had all the hallmarks of a deadly message from the Rizzuto crime family in Montreal.
