MONTREAL - Four people have been murdered in Montreal since Friday, making this weekend the bloodiest of 2014.

The crime spree started late Friday night when a 23-year-old man was shot dead in a bar north of downtown.

On Saturday morning, Montreal police found two bodies in what is suspected to be a murder-suicide. Investigators first found the body of Serge Savage and later discovered the body of his wife, Sylvie Larocque, in his house.

Larocque, who had recently broken up with Savage, suffered multiple stab wounds.

The same day, a 17-year-old girl was found dead in a hotel on Sherbrooke Street. The teenager had wounds to her upper body and an 18-year-old was arrested in the murder.

Saturday evening, a 60-year-old woman was shot in Lachine, Que., a borough south of Montreal. She died from her injuries at hospital on Sunday. A 34-year-old man was arrested shortly after.

Montreal's murder count is now at 12 for the year.
