TORONTO - A Mississauga man is facing charges after $11,000 in cancer donations was stolen from a charity event, police announced Wednesday.

Hamilton Police allege the accused took a cash box during a Ridge to Conquer Cancer charity dinner at the Sheraton Hotel on Saturday.

A man was captured on security camera leaving the event with the box.

According to police, the man was arrested at a downtown Hamilton hotel without incident Tuesday afternoon.
