WINNIPEG -- A man has been arrested on accusations he covertly recorded young family members and encouraged sexual acts.

RCMP received a tip earlier this month that a 64-year-old man had set up a recording device in the washroom of his home.

Police say he also made sexually explicit material available to a child and possessed child pornography.

When RCMP executed a search warrant at the home, they discovered unsafely stored firearms.

The man was charged June 11 with voyeurism, making child pornography, possession of child pornography, making sexually explicit material available to a child, four counts of unsafe storage of firearms and one count of unsafe storage of ammunition.

The identity of the suspect isn't being released to protect the victim.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 2.
