QUEBEC CITY - Three chopper jailbreakers appeared in court for three different cases on Thursday as police hunted for three alleged accomplices.

Serge Pomerleau, Denis Lefebvre and Yves Denis arrived at the Quebec City courthouse under heavily armed police guard.

They each face two new charges related to their June 7 helicopter escape from nearby Orsainville jail.

Then they remained in the courtroom, where their drug-trafficking trial resumed under a second judge.

The judge granted the defendants' request to have their bail hearing put off until September.

There was also a videoconference hearing for the defendants' murder trial, scheduled to begin in Montreal in January.

Police arrested the three men in a luxury Montreal condo on Sunday, two weeks after their escape.

Investigators are still looking for the helicopter pilot, the drug trafficker who rented the condo where the men were caught and a Montreal criminal suspected of bringing them money and food.
