BARRIE, Ont. -- A long-distance truck driver who attacked and sexually assaulted two local men while he was drunk and high on cocaine was sentenced to prison on Thursday.

Jordan Mannisto, 29, of Thunder Bay, Ont., who lived out of the back of his transport truck, was sentenced to three years in prison and two years on probation and will be on the sex-offender registry for life.

The sentence leaves him with 20 months left to serve after spending 16 months in jail since his arrest.

"These were serious, violent offences," Justice Michelle Fuerst said in her sentencing. "Mr. Mannisto victimized two individuals chosen at random."

During a preliminary hearing, two men, aged 20 and 23, testified they were terrified when they were attacked while walking home after drinking with friends in a downtown bar.

One incident occurred Dec. 29, 2012, and the other a few weeks later on Jan. 19, 2013.
