A Winnipeg man who sexually abused his brother for years was spared jail time Friday and sentenced to six months deferred custody and 18 months supervised probation.

The now 23-year-old man was 13 when he began sexually abusing his pre-teen brother. The abuse continued on a regular basis until the accused was 17.

“Essentially everything that could happen did happen,” Crown attorney Krista Burkis said at a sentencing hearing last month.

The man also pleaded guilty to molesting an older sister during the same time period.
