TORONTO — One of Tyrone Bracken’s executioners admitted Monday he ordered a hit on three Crown witnesses to stop them from testifying against him.

Gunman Shaquille Belle, 20, who is serving a life sentence for the November 2010, execution-style shooting of Bracken, 16, pleaded guilty Monday to counselling to commit murder and two counts of attempting to intimidate a witness.

Judge Ian Nordheimer sentenced Belle to nine years concurrently on his life sentence.

While in custody in Cobourg, Ont., in January 2013, Belle wrote a coded letter to “G-Kid” ordering a hit on three Crown witnesses — either by shooting or poisoning them — before they could implicate him when the trial started in April, according to an agreed statement of facts.
