CALGARY ─ Somewhere on the dusty rural roads around Airdrie, Alta., you'll see them searching.

Two pickup trucks and a handful of people in the midst of something so crucial, so compelling, that this could easily be called the most important job of their lives.

"We have to find them," says Allen Liknes. "It's just necessary for us to find them."

Just as police keep looking, and teams of volunteers keep looking, a family with every right to be paralyzed with grief is out looking too.

The family can't stop to mourn, knowing Nathan, Alvin and Kathryn are still out there.

Exactly where they should look, they don't know, and just like police trying to bring closure to this terrible case, they're working on instinct.
