CALGARY - A man was arrested for allegedly trying to enter a rally at the city’s Jewish Community Centre Wednesday night with an Airsoft gun.

Officers took down the suspect, who Staff Sgt. Paul Wozney described as being “well-known” to police.

Wozney said police did not believe the man’s intentions were politically motivated.

“I don’t think that this is in any way related to the protest issue that happened a couple days ago at city hall,” said Wozney.

Meanwhile, hundreds of people gathered at the rally to show solidarity for Israel amidst the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
