TORONTO - A former group home counsellor has been charged with indecent assaults on a boy dating back to 1977.

The suspect was charged in relation to alleged assaults on a 12-year-old boy at the Sagamore Farm group home in Parham, Ont., north of Kingston, as well as at a Toronto address between 1977-1983.

The suspect was working as a counsellor at the group home, said police.

An investigation by several police agencies resulted in the man’s arrest Thursday.

Toronto Police are investigating the possibility of more victims.

William Robert Metcalfe, 71, of Toronto, also known as Bob Metcalfe, is charged with three counts of gross indecency and three counts of indecent assault. He was released from custody and is schedule to appear in court Sept. 9.
