Teens charged in armed carjacking, pistol-whipping in victim's driveway

TORONTO - Two teens have been arrested and a loaded gun recovered after a carjacking in Toronto.

Toronto Police say two males approached a man in his driveway in the Islington Ave. and Finch Ave. W. area Monday at 7:25 p.m. and threatened him with a gun.

The thugs grabbed his keys and then pistol-whipped him before taking off in his car.

Officers spotted the vehicle and followed to Black Creek Dr. south of Lawrence Ave., police said. The vehicle was stopped by traffic when police approached the car and made the arrests.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Leon McIntyre, 18, of Toronto, and a 16-year-old male who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, face numerous charges, including armed robbery, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, and use of a firearm during the commission of an indictable offence.
