WINNIPEG -- A 21-year-old man is facing charges for an indecent act after a fellow employee discovered a cellphone was recording her in the washroom of a local car wash Tuesday.

The man will also be charged for failure to comply with conditions of an undertaking related to a previous crime, believed to be a robbery in 2011, police said Thursday.

The cellphone had been poorly concealed in a towel near a garbage dispenser in the washroom used by both the public and employees.

"She was really freaked out," said the manager of MidTown Car Wash, who did not want his name used.

"She came running out of the bathroom, shouting, 'Whose (expletive deleted) phone is this?!' But she could tell from his screen saver because it had his name on it. He kind of denied it, at first, saying his phone was on the charger.

"We called the police and kept him here until the police came. Then he was terminated immediately and we gave her the rest of the day off."
