CALGARY -- Police were questioning three people Monday in the downtown shooting death of an innocent bystander.

Cops were called to 11 Ave. and 1 St. S.W. early Saturday after a young woman was gunned down outside a nightclub.

Following an autopsy Monday, she was identified as Natasha Mohamed Farah, 26.

Farah moved to Calgary less than a year ago from Toronto, homicide Staff Sgt. Michael Cavilla said.

While a motive for the shooting is unknown, police are confident Farah was not targeted.

"We have a very young, innocent female that was gunned down in front of the club," Cavilla said. "This was reckless and tragic."

It's believed the gunfire came from a car with a group of people inside, however, police are not sure whether the car was moving or stationary.

Police have located a silver Volkswagen Jetta that was spotted at the scene.

They have ruled out a case of mistaken identity and Cavilla also said it's not believed Farah was caught between rivals.

"There was no two warring parties," he said, adding it's not believed a fight broke out between those inside the car.
