Men on juries judge obese women more harshly

You’re a woman wrongly accused of murdering your boss —a gentle and selfless philanthropist who was voted Best Grandmother Ever by the United Nations.

What else can go wrong in your day? Perhaps showing up overweight at your trial.

Researchers at Yale University have found obese female defendants are evaluated much harsher than skinnier suspects.

But only by certain male jurors.

Lead researcher Natasha Schvey said when skinny men were casting opinions, they found the larger woman more likely to be a criminal.
