Girl, 4, saves sister, 2, from crash that killed mom
By QMI Agency
Two little girls in southwestern Washington state were alone for about six hours after a car crash killed their mother, and police believe the older girl, 4, may have pulled her younger sister out of the wreckage. Police believe that at about 2 a.m. Wednesday, the car ran off the road near Naselle, Wash., and hit a tree, KING 5 news reported. The woman, who is believed to have fallen asleep, likely died immediately. The older girl pulled herself and her two-year-old sister out of the car and covered them with a blanket, KING 5 news reported. It was raining and cool out, and state troopers say the older girl's actions likely saved both their lives. Sometime between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m., a passing motorist noticed a fresh gash in a tree on the side of the road and decided to investigate, police said. The car wasn't visible from the roadway. The driver found the girls and called police. |
