Should the Canadian Pacific strikers be legislated back to work?
Yes, all strikes are always stupid.
No, the feds should butt out of labour negotiations.
Not yet. But if they don't reach a deal soon...

First-time lucky: A $2.3M windfall
By JAMIE NGO -- Sun Media

TORONTO - Talk about beginners luck.

Haemant Sawh decided on a whim to buy two lottery tickets -- one from the Princess Margaret Lifestyles Lottery for Cancer Research and the other from the Heart and Stroke Foundation Lottery.

Paying $100 a pop, Sawh won back his money from the Heart and Stroke lottery and thought that was the end of his winning streak.

He got a call early yesterday with the news that he was also one of seven grand prize winners for the Aug. 7 draw, starting at $100,000 in cash. Never did he expect that his prize was the grand Millionaire Lifestyle package.

The first ticket Sawh has ever bought turned into a prize package valued at more than $2.3 million -- including a fully furnished, four-bedroom, five-bathroom home stretching on a half hectare in Oakville. Parked in front of the estate was a 2008 BMW 535i sedan and an envelope with a cheque for $20,000.

Sawh turns 36 next week, and said the prize isn't just an early birthday gift for himself, but also for his two young sons. "I was thinking of my kids and how I can provide a better life for them," he said. "It's a better neighbourhood. "

The Rogers Communications rep said he can't wait to move out of Brampton and into his new home.
