Al Harding spent his last birthday in style, over $6.6 million worth of style.
The Edmonton man is the city's latest LOTTO 6/49 winner, learning of the winning ticket just two days before his August birthday.
"I thought there was something wrong; there was no way I was holding the winning ticket. I thought the heavens must have collided and everything was sideways. I still feel like it isn't real," said Harding.
Harding picked up his Quick Pick for the August 18th draw at the Primrose Food Store Reddi Mart at 8458 182 St. in Edmonton. He usually prefers to play the Scratch 'n Win tickets.
"I had an extra $5 in my pocket and thought I might as well buy a ticket," said Harding.
When Harding checked his ticket, he noticed an exact match on one of the lines.
Once the winning numbers were confirmed, Harding discovered he was the sole winner of a prize worth over $6.6 million.
"I don't have a care in the world, anymore," said Harding.
Harding spared no time making big plans to spend his winning. Trips to Japan and Germany, a new sports car and building a garage to work on restoring cars, top the millionaire's list.
He also plans on building his dream home here in Edmonton.
"I could never imagine moving away. I want to stay in the community that I love," said Harding.
Harding's winning numbers were 3, 7, 12, 25, 28, 37 and the bonus was 16.
