TORONTO - Ontario will launch a new lottery game - Poker Lotto - that combines for the first time an instant win and nightly draw.

Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation vice-president Greg McKenzie will launch the new gambling product Wednesday morning in Toronto.

"Poker Lotto is a new lottery game that is unlike any other lottery game ever created," the OLG said in a media release issued Tuesday. "Poker Lotto uses playing card symbols instead of numbers and, for the first time in Canadian history, combines an instant win game with a nightly lottery draw."

The OLG recently announced that it is expanding into online gambling as regular casinos struggle to hold and retain customers.
