A hoax picture of a man holding up what appears to be a winning Powerball ticket and promising to share the wealth has been shared millions of times on Facebook.

"Looks like I won't be going to work EVER!!!!!" wrote a user calling himself Nolan Daniels. "Share this photo and I will give a random person 1 million dollars!"

While the ticket does show the winning numbers, Gawker notes they're not in numerical order. On its website, Powerball clearly states: "The tickets print the white ball numbers (the first five numbers) in numerical order."

As of Monday afternoon, the post — the only one on the Facebook page — had been shared more than two million times.

In the comments, people were begging Daniels to pick them, detailing their financial woes.

A couple in Missouri has been identified as the holders of one of two winning tickets in the $587.5-million jackpot. The fate of the other winning ticket hasn't been announced.
