A Winnipeg man feels like he's dreaming after he and his partner followed a $10,000 lottery win a with a million-dollar ticket the next week.

“He calls me his good luck charm,” new millionaire Patty Leganchuk said of her partner Michael Homeniuk.

The path to their big win started after she scratched his lottery ticket and won $10,000 in early January.

A week later, on Jan. 9, the couple decided to get another $5 Set For Life ticket.

She asked to scratch it first.

“I said, ‘I’ll give you the luck,’” Leganchuk recalled.

They like to start with the bonus area and work their way up — so the shock set in right away.

“I said, ‘Michael, look! There’s three Set For Life symbols here!’”
