Yes, all strikes are always stupid.
No, the feds should butt out of labour negotiations.

Fantino hasn't been told if he's getting a cabinet post

TORONTO — Prime Minister Stephen Harper hasn't informed Vaughan, Ont., MP Julian Fantino whether he will be appointed to cabinet Tuesday.

The Prime Minister's Office has indicated a cabinet shuffle will be announced at 2 p.m. An opening came up as a result of Jim Prentice's decision to leave his post as environment minister and take a job in the private sector.

It opens up an opportunity for the former Toronto police chief and Ontario Provincial Police commissioner to join cabinet.

If that's the case, Fantino claims he hasn't been given advance notice.

"I actually don't know," he told QMI Agency. "I know there is an announcement but what it is has not been shared with me so far."

Six ministers are expected to be moved in Tuesday's shuffle.
