OTTAWA - The federal government will launch a new online tool Monday it says will help veterans more easily get information about benefits and federal services, QMI Agency has learned.

Veterans Affairs Minister Steven Blaney was scheduled to announce the new tool at a news conference Monday morning here.

The new "Benefits Browser" is intended to help veterans get information quickly about benefits, services and other programs.

The government says the initiative is part of its program to cut red tape for veterans.

The "Benefits Browser" was created initially by the Office of the Veterans Ombudsman.
