TORONTO - Parents will receive three days notice when Ontario’s elementary public school teachers decide to strike next month.

The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario announced Wednesday its plans to hold strikes to protest Bill 115 -- controversial legislation which allows the provincial government to quash strikes and impose wage-freeze agreements.

“It is unfortunate that we have been placed in the position of having to strike by Education Minister Laurel Broten, but we will provide parents with ample notice to ensure the safety of students,” ETFO president Sam Hammond said in a statement.
