Canada Post has written "return to sender" on a plan to have the Crown corporation cover the cost of sending union bosses and activists to Brazilian and Cuban resorts for political conferences.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has already sent a pair of six-person delegations to two sunny destinations: the World Social Forum's "Free Palestine" conference in Porto Alegre, Brazil, and a confab in Holguin, Cuba to demand the U.S. release five Cuban agents arrested for espionage.
CUPW has said some of the $200,000 global solidarity fund provided by Canada Post would cover the costs of the junkets that run 'til Saturday, but the Crown corporation denies that.
