OTTAWA - Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is seeking input on next spring's budget - as long as Thomas Mulcair and Bob Rae leave their shopping lists at home.

In a letter to the NDP leader and interim Liberal leader Thursday obtained by QMI Agency, Flaherty wants to hear whether his opponents have any "cost-neutral or non-spending steps" that might help the government supports jobs and growth.
