Justin Trudeau says no GST hike, no gun registry

Liberal leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau said Wednesday he has no plans to raise the GST and he repeated his goal to find some way to reduce gun crime in Canada without resurrecting the long-gun registry.

Trudeau was campaigning Wednesday north of Toronto in the communities of Vaughan and Newmarket.

There, he said the Liberal party needs to develop new policies that will help middle-class families and that those policies cannot include raising the GST that the Harper Conservatives have trimmed to 5%.
