Ontario’s public elementary teachers have announced the beginning of what’s expected to be a province-wide wave of strikes, giving 72 hours notice of one-day job actions to two school boards.

Education Minister Laurel Broten has scheduled a media conference for Thursday morning to respond to the strikes planned by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario (ETFO) for Monday at the Avon Maitland and Ontario North East District school boards.
