Jewish and even Muslim groups have criticized Liberal leadership hopeful Justin Trudeau's decision to give the keynote address at this year's Reviving the Islamic Spirit conference in Toronto.

Trudeau's team said the Dec. 22 event will help him reach out to young voters. With an anticipated attendance of up to 20,000 people, the event is an opportunity for Trudeau to "mobilize the youth vote," his press secretary told QMI Agency.

But observers wonder if the negatives outweigh the positives, as concerns about the radical views of other speakers at the conference, and sponsorship links to Hamas, raise questions.
