OTTAWA -- Central banker Mark Carney didn't breach conflict of interest ruleswhen he vacationed at the home of a Liberal MP last summer, the Bank of Canada says.

But the issue is raising concerns across the pond as Carney is slated to take over as the head of the Bank of England next year.

According to the Times of London, British MPs on the Treasury Select Committee will be questioning Carney about his political leanings.

The story also popped up in The Telegraph and The Guardian newspapers, while The Times of London banking editor Sam Coates tweeted: "I'm not sure Mark Carney would get away with a) holidays with senior political players and b) refusing to answer about them; in the U.K."
