Idle No More protesters prepared to cause havoc
By Jessica Hume, Parliamentary Bureau
OTTAWA - Aboriginal activists and supporters plan to block highways, bridges and rail lines Wednesday to disrupt the Canadian economy as a warning to the Conservative government that inaction on treaty rights and environmental reviews won't be tolerated. Though not all targeted sites are known, Chief Terrence Nelson promised that Idle No More groups will block traffic on CN and CP rail lines going east and west.
A blockade will also hit part of the Trans-Canada highway near Nipigon, Ont., and is scheduled to last about three hours.
