TORONTO — Coun. Ana Bailao has pleaded guilty to one of her impaired driving charges.

In a press conference at City Hall Monday, Bailao revealed she pleaded guilty earlier in the day to having more than 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

A second charge for impaired driving was dropped, she said.

When police arrested Bailao at 1:43 a.m. on Oct. 16, she had 130 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

Until Monday, Bailao had always maintained she would plead not guilty to the charges.

Bailao apologized to her friends, family and constituents, but was adamant she won't resign.

She said she was given a driving prohibition of 12 months and a $1,000 fine.

She confirmed she had been drinking at the Thompson Hotel after the Mayor's Ball for the Arts. She took a cab from the bar to her car before driving home. She was stopped by police because her headlights were off.
