POL-NB-HIRE-GRADS - In an effort to combat soaring unemployment, New Brunswick has offered to pay 70% of recent graduates' salaries for their first year of work.

"Slow global growth means New Brunswick businesses are having difficulty creating jobs, and New Brunswick graduates are having difficulty finding career opportunities here at home," Premier David Alward said.

"The One-Job Pledge initiative is an investment in our young people as well as New Brunswick businesses that are poised to grow despite challenging economic circumstances. Working with New Brunswick businesses to create jobs is a key part of our government's plan to rebuild New Brunswick."
