Senate may shed light on expenses, or may not

OTTAWA — The results of external audits into the spending of four senators will see the light of day — maybe.

Auditing firm Deloitte is looking into the travel expenses of Conservative and former TV broadcaster Sen. Pamela Wallin, who is under fire for racking up over $300,000 in travel bills since Sept. 2010.

The taxpayer-funded housing allowances of three other senators — Conservatives Mike Duffy and Patrick Brazeau and Liberal Mac Harb — are also being looked at by Deloitte in a separate audit.
