WINNIPEG BEACH — Winnipeg Beach is ground zero for one of the province's biggest science experiments in recent years.

Workers were busy preparing a silt curtain Friday that will close off the harbour entrance.

Tomorrow, liquid potash will be pumped into the enclosed harbour in the hopes of eradicating Lake Winnipeg's zebra mussel population.

Work on harbours in Gimli, Arnes and Balsam Bay will begin in the next few days.

This story will be updated.
