Infected needles tale a hoax: police

Middlesex OPP say an e-mail about an infected needle on the underside of gas pumps is a hoax.

The crime unit has received several reports recently from concerned citizens about the e-mail, police said.

The phoney e-mail is from a Capt. Abraham Sands of the OPP and warns of infected hypodermic needles on the underside of gas-pump handles.

OPP said there is no Abraham Sands that works for the provincial force.

Police also said there have been no reported injuries at gas stations from needles.
