It wasn't exactly Goldilocks and she didn't eat any porridge or test any chairs, but Brandon residents did find a strange woman sleeping on their couch after an apparently bungled robbery attempt.
"She was at the time under the influence of alcohol," said Sgt. Kevin Loewen of the Brandon Police Service, adding there was no confrontation between the resident and the suspect.
ASLEEP ON COUCH
Residents returned to their home in the first block of 12th Street North early yesterday morning to find some of the home's contents -- including computer components -- outside on the sidewalk.
As the residents entered the house, they discovered a female suspect asleep on their couch. Police were called to the scene and arrested a 29-year-old Brandon woman.
WOMAN CHARGED
"We do from time to time find people sleeping in other people's residences, but not usually during a break-in," said Loewen, adding the incident is fairly unusual.
The woman has been charged break and enter, and theft. She is expected to appear in court on Oct. 10.
