Bust nets Homer Simpson ecstasy pills

BLAINE, Wash. - A North Vancouver woman might well be saying "D'oh" after she was allegedly caught at the U.S. border with 100,000 pills of ecstasy shaped like Homer Simpson and the Transformers.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection says Krysta Edwards was arrested on Friday for attempting to smuggle $1 million worth of tablets into the U.S.

Border officials say the pills were found in a hidden compartment in Edwards' vehicle.

The compartment was allegedly built into the cargo area of the vehicle and was opened by a hidden electrical switch.

Border spokesman Greg Alvarez says this is the second major ecstasy seizure at the crossing this month and signals the intensity of the illicit narcotic trade.

Edwards, 23, remains in custody.
