COBOURG, Ont. — Sometimes the police get more than they bargain for at spot checks.
In Central Ontario this week, police seized 19 bags of what they say appears to be cocaine from a driver at a routine stop.
Police say the accused 29-year-old Cobourg, Ont., man was pulled over at about 11:20 p.m. on Nov. 30. They found an open bottle of vodka, the baggies of suspected cocaine and a set of scales.
He was charged with possession of alcohol, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, and driving while under suspension.
The man was released from custody on a promise to appear in court Dec. 30.
