A 42-year-old Brantford man is facing a charge of mischief for stuffing a banana into the tail pipe of a marked Brantford police cruiser.

An officer was in the vehicle Wednesday when he noticed a man creep up behind the cruiser and crouch down before walking away, police said.

Suspicious, the officer got out of the cruiser and approached the male. The man subsequently confessed to putting a banana in the tail pipe, the police spokesman said, adding the man had been drinking.
