OWEN SOUND, Ont. - A teenaged bicyclist was charged with careless driving Sunday after colliding with a parked car as he was texting on his cellphone.

The 16-year-old boy was composing a message as he was riding his bicycle just before 11 a.m., city police said.

The impact tossed him from his bike and into the rear window of the car, smashing it.

He was treated for minor injuries, police said.
