Storage unit held grandma's remains

It might have been the strangest ever episode of Storage Wars.

When officials went to auction off the contents of unit B8 at the U-Stor in Clearwater, Fla., they found a blue casket with a body inside.

The family that had rented the unit for 25 years but recently fallen behind on rent fessed up: that's grandma, who died in 1995, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

The 10-by-10-foot unit isn't air-conditioned.

Police arrived Thursday to investigate and don't believe foul play was involved, according to the report.

They will take the body to an organization that provides burials for people who can't afford them.

Improper disposal of a body is a crime in Florida, but no charges have been laid so far. Nor have police released the names of the family members, living or dead.
