Police rescued an Oregon senior Friday after she was trapped under a dresser for four days without food or water.

KGW-TV reports the 67-year-old Portland woman was moving furniture in her home when the dresser fell and pinned her legs.

Washington County sheriff's officers found the woman after neighbours called them to check on her.

"If not for the concerned neighbours and decisive action of the deputies on scene, the result of this situation could have been tragic," Sgt. Vance Stimler told the broadcaster.

The woman was taken to hospital with leg injuries. She has since been released.
