Ikea monkey owner readies fight to get Darwin back

Enough with the monkey business. This is getting serious.

The former owner of the runaway rhesus macaque monkey Darwin is ready for a court battle Thursday to reclaim custody of her family’s small furry friend.

Yasmin Nakhuda’s lawsuit names Story Book Farm Primate Sanctuary of Sunderland and its president, Sherri Delaney, and alleges they have “unlawfully detained” her pet.

The 149-page suit further claims that Toronto Animal Services had no right to seize the monkey found wandering two Sundays ago at an Ikea store in North York.
