A 10-year-old boy in Brockton, Mass., called 911 Wednesday because his mom told him to go to bed, the Enterprise newspaper reports.

The boy placed the call at 8:09 p.m. with the intention of telling the dispatcher his mother was forcing him to go to bed even though he didn't want to.

But instead of ratting out his mom, he got nervous and hung up on the 911 dispatcher.

As per policy, the dispatcher called back to see what was wrong, and the boy's mother explained the situation.

On the call, the mother can be heard telling the boy the police were on the phone, the Enterprise reports. She asked him if he still wanted to talk to the cops about his early bedtime.

He didn't.

An officer went to the house anyway to explain when it is appropriate to call 911.

There were no charges.
