Roary the missing high school mascot returned
By Allison Salz, Edmonton Sun

McNally High School Tiger mascot, "Roary" was declared missing in November 2012. The thief is now playing a game of cat and mouse with police via a @WheresRoary Twitter account.

EDMONTON -- The days of gallivanting around town posing with booze and marijuana are over for Roary the Tiger.

McNally High School's missing mascot has been returned home after being cat-napped in November.

Following a four-month cat and mouse chase, the person who poached the school's beloved mascot has returned it to the school.

"The mascot was returned by one suspect, who was given the choice of theft charges, or a form of alternative justice," police spokeswoman Clair Seyler said.

"(He chose to) return the mascot, repaired and cleaned, and write a letter of apology to the student body."
