EDMONTON -- A Bobcat driver is facing hefty charges — including impaired driving — after witnesses reported the machine slammed into a cube van, tipping it over and causing a fuel spill.
Cops got the call around 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 2, with several citizens living at a condo complex in the Glastonbury neighbourhood in west Edmonton reporting the Bobcat operator was driving erratically around the apartment complex.
At one point they reported the Bobcat struck the small cube van, tipping it onto its side and sending fuel spilling from the vehicle.
When police arrived on scene, residents said the driver had been spotted walking north of the complex into a field that separated the property from Whitemud Drive.
With the assistance of Air-1, a man was eventually located in some bushes south of Whitemud Drive.
The 45-year-old man was charged with impaired driving, driving over 80 mg% and disqualified driving.
