TORONTO - An argument over pilfered groceries at a Brampton, Ont., home required the intervention of Peel Regional Police’s tactical team Sunday.
Const. George Tudos said the squad and five other officers were dispatched to a home after a man called 911 saying his roommate, armed with a knife, was threatening to kill him. The argument started when one of the men confronted a roommate about stealing his food.
“When they confronted the other party about it, that’s when the suspect began threatening him and becoming aggressive,” he said.
Police treated the call seriously, Tudos said.

“It’s a minor incident for the average person but in this case it escalated to where weapons were involved,” he said. “Yes, it’s a waste of resources when a simple dispute like this could have been resolved in an easier fashion.”
The suspect was located a short distance away. There were no injuries and no charges were laid.
