It took at least two people to haul away a hive full of sleeping bees, U.K. police say.

The Norfolk Constabulary is appealing for any information about who buzzed off with a beehive from a community garden in Norwich sometime between Dec. 13 and 22.

The hive contained "wintering" bees, the cops said.

An average hive is thought to hold anywhere from 20,000 to 50,000 of the insects, which hibernate in winter. The structure "would have needed two people to move," police said.
