WINNIPEG -- It's been a series of long day's nights for Winnipeg plow crews, which is why Riley Moreau wants to cut one driver a break.

But that didn't stop him from tweeting a picture of a driver asleep at the wheel of his sidewalk plow — while it was running.

Moreau drives all over the city delivering parts to electricians and has seen his share of terrible roads over the last few weeks. He was driving on Main Street just north of the Chief Peguis Trail Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. when he snapped the picture.

"I was just wondering, because he actually had the machine running. I drove past him — he was out so cold, I couldn't believe it," Moreau said.

He tweeted the picture mostly as a joke, he said, understanding crews have been working overtime and overnight.

"I wasn't really judging him because I didn't know if he was working all night. I wasn't really bothered, because it wasn't really a residential area," said Moreau.

The city is taking it more seriously.
